San Diego Chicken

Jun 24

Today was more or less relaxing for me, most of the weekend I developed my site a little more. I learned more about PHP and added some server side scripting enhancements to the site. The weather has been a mix of drizzle and sunshine, temperature ranging from 70-80.

For supper I decided to try another recipe from my grilling book, San Diego Chicken. It consists of chicken breast strips, 1 lime, 1 lemon and tomato sauce. Squeeze the citrus juice out into a bowl and mix in the tomato sauce, put the chicken into the sauce, place the bowl in a Ziploc bag in the refrigerator for a few hours. The chicken will have a semi-tart taste to it.

While I was purchasing the fruit mentioned earlier, I kept thinking how beautiful fruit is, so vibrant in color, so distinct in shape and scent. If you put lemons, limes, oranges, mangos, etc. together they look amazing- the same goes for any other fruit. Fruit is God’s candy, sweet yet healthy for you. I was inspired to alter the site theme; I wanted to create a nostalgic feeling. The nostalgic moment for me is thinking back when I first ate a lemon, lime, orange.

One more week and I will be in Virginia, I’ll be gone for a week and will be sure to keep my blog updated!

Camping at Kokadjo

Jun 19

Yesterday after Church I drove 180 miles north to Kokadjo, it’s roughly 20 miles past Greenville, Maine. The weather was hovering around 86° with a hazy sky (not from smog). When I arrived we ate cheeseburgers that I had prepared earlier. We had planned on hiking but Dad did not bring the right shoes so instead we went 4-wheeling. The air is freshly filled with the scent of water, pine trees and pure air, it’s rejuvenating. We stopped at Penobscot pond which is 18 miles from Roach pond, where Dad’s camp is located. Penobscot pond had some very large tadpoles, it appears that these tadpoles will turn into large frogs if a Snapper does not decide to have a snack.

Later in the day I went swimming with my cousin Hunter. The water was 60°, which was cold until your body adjusted. After swimming we decided to hunt for Crayfish, which look like mini-Lobsters. We found three hiding under a few large rocks near the shore. Dad boiled them and we all ate one to see if they taste like Lobster, to my surprise they do!

On the way home I snapped a few photos of the sunset over Lilly bay. I did not see one Moose on the ride home which was very unusual.

Here are some of the photos I tookpicmore: Dad & I, Live Crayfish, Live Crayfish, Cooked Crayfish, Eaten Crayfish, baby Ducks, sunset and the sunset few minutes later.

6/6/06 … ?

Jun 06

I’ve heard a lot of hoop-la about today’s date, June 6th, 2006 or 6/6/06. So many people that do not fully understand what this set of numbers mean relate it to the end of the world.

What does this widely talked about number mean? It comes from the Bible, the Book of Revelation specifically. When you read the Bible, any number you see has a meaning and or purpose to it. The number 6 is man’s number, the day man was created. The number 666 is the sign of the Beast, or the Anti-Christ, the person(s) that come to power during the 7 year Tribulation.

A lot of people believe that during the Tribulation people will have to have a mark on their forehead or hand to be able to purchase food or items, this is true, but not necessarily a physical mark. In the Old Testament people who worshiped God or false gods referred to having a mark on their forehead, this was a spiritual “mark” not a physical one. This is one of the reasons why the Anti-Christ wants everyone to have this mark, he wants to be worshiped. The mark on the hand will probably be so sort of pledge of allegiance to the beast and or a device that allows you to purchase items.

That’s a very quick summary of the 666 mark, I may at some point write an article on it for my Christianity section. I hope that you have learned something- if you have any questions or comments, let me know!

Here’s a comic poking fun at the 666′ers, enjoy.

Dental work

Jun 05

This past week has been very cool and rainy, the apartment’s backyard is turning into a marsh. Dave, one of my co-workers came over on Saturday, he wanted me to help him find an Xbox 360. We went to Sam’s Club which were only selling it in a “package deal”, so we headed over to Wal-Mart which had one left.

Today I finally had my first bottom-right molar filled- not for a cavity though. That tooth has a deep crevice and the Dentist wanted to fill it so it would not form into a cavity. Getting my tooth filled was quicker than getting my oil changed, I was surprised.

For the past few days I have been listening to the soundtrack of Fellowship of the Ring, which lead me to think of the movies that have made me cry. Here’s the list:

I heard a clip on the radio yesterday while on my way to Church, I thought it was humorous yet true:

Christian: Jesus says in John 14:6, “I am the way, the Truth and the Life, no man cometh unto the Father (Heaven), but by me.”Christian: What do you think of Jesus, Mike? (non-Christian)

Mike: Well, I believe that Jesus is just a good teacher, but if He’s a good man, He wouldn’t lie- so I guess what He says is true…
