Seminars

Feb 28

Since Sunday I have been attending End Time seminars by a Christian man who is very knowledgeable in the Word. I agree with his statements except for his belief on the Rapture and Tribulation. There are three beliefs / studies on this occurrence, Pre-Tribulation, Mid-Tribulation and Post-Tribulation. He believes in Post, which is clearly not what the Bible teaches. The Bible states that Christ will Rapture His children (People who are saved through Him) in a twinkling of an eye, like a thief in the night and than the 7 year tribulation, the 70th week of Daniel’s prophecy from God. I could go way into depth with this, but I won’t at this time. If you have any questions, please, email me. I may post an article on it in the Christian section, but am busy with creating a FAQ on common questions.

I was browsing through a Christian shop online and saw some Jesus T-Shirts that I really liked. I have 3 now and love them, they are such a good way to get peoples attention. Here are the one’s I’m probably going to pick up this week: OutcastYou Who.

This week has been pretty cold compared to the last month, howling artic winds from the north have driven the temperature down in the negatives.

President’s Day

Feb 20

I decided to take today off to sleep in and relax. I read an article on Yahoo! stating that President’s Day came about around President Nixon’s term and that it was created to consolidate President Lincoln and Washington’s birthdays since they are in the same month and to celebrate all of the other Presidents in the US.

I had a full breakfast this morning. I made hash browns and an egg & cheese muffin. It smells like a Saturday morning breakfast.

This morning I heard a Chickadee and another type of bird call. Black-capped Chickadee’s normally stay year-round so that wasn’t as much of a surprise as the other roll call that I heard. Hopefully this means spring is right around the corner.

I finished watching all 8 seasons on Stargate SG-1 on DVD last night. It took me nearly a year, but I have finished them. I am saddened but am looking forward to watching them all with someone so we can share the events.

Nor’easter leaves Maine behind

Feb 13

Maine has been doing very well this winter. Bangor has only received roughly 4 inches of snow this winter. We had green grass and weather in the 40’s all winter long. Yesterday, the North East Coast was hit buy a large snow storm. Most places such as Washington D.C., Connecticut and Massachusetts received anywhere from 1 foot to 4 feet which is pretty decent snow storm. Maine, fortunately only received 2-6 inches depending on where you live. Last year Maine had a blizzard that brought in 6 feet of snow, I still have the photos. I think I have them posted somewhere here.

Valentine’s Day is tomorrow. I think I am going to purchase some Chocolate Covered Cherries for myself and possibly go to a party the Campus Crusade for Christ is hosting. We shall see. I am still looking for a job in Virginia, as you can see, it has been unsuccessful.

Today is such a nice day for this time of year. I am looking out the window of my “office” and the Penobscot River is very full at the moment with cold black water spotted with white sheets of ice. In some areas you can see the clear blue sky on the surface of the calm water.

Are you a “Pack Rat”?

Feb 05

It’s already February and it’s not even snowing… It’s been in the 50’s. I am not complaining one bit though. Another work week is ahead of me. We have hired two new people and they should be on board this month- the extra help is much needed.

I decided to do some early spring cleaning today. I am the type of person that does not like to have clutter and needs things organized. I don’t like keeping stuff I don’t need, but I found it hard to through out an old desk that I have used as a server bench for years, it’s been in the family for around 20 years. The desk was apart of a camper at one point. I don’t know why, but I just feel bad that it’s sitting out by the dumpster. I would keep it, but I don’t have much use for it at the time and I don’t have a lot of storage space in this apartment. Are you a pack rat? Do you get upset when you though something out or am I just strange?

I filed my taxes today and was relieved I did not owe any more to the Government and that I am going to receive some extra cash.
