Moving time

Well, today is moving day and it’s storming; it’s a blizzard to be more detailed, high winds, lots of snow, etc. I have taken this week off from work, so I need to get moving. I rented a small trailer from U-Haul. My dad, mom and her husband helped me load all of my things into the trailer that day. which took about an hour as I had most of my things packed into boxes already. After getting most of my things packed, I had to reconfigure my mothers computer (remove it from the domain, hook it directly to the DSL modem, make sure everything was firewalled).

After making sure I had all the things we could take with us, I got in my car and Jack and Mom got into their truck and headed off to Bangor. The roads were slushy and icey in some parts so I had to go a little slower on the interstate, around 60MPH. I called Jess from Tennessee and talked to her for most of the drive to Bangor. About an hour and ten minutes later, I arrived to my new apartment. I called Rich and Tim, two co-workers to let them know I was there so they could come over and help me move my things in. My dad had to go to work so he could not make it over to help. While I was waiting for mom, Jack and my co-workers the Adelphia tech came to install my cable TV and internet.

Another 20 minutes passed and everyone arrived… time to move my stuff up to the second floor. The heaviest and most difficult thing to move was my 32″ HDTV… it’s around 300LBS, it took myself, Rich and Tim to move it very slowly up the stairs. About 30 minutes later, everything was in. After awhile, everyone left and I started unpacking and putting things away. My box spring broke at the house so we left it, I laid my mattress on the floor and slept on it. I need to get a new bed set.
